A Word from Our Grand Knight
Adrian Smith, Grand Knight – Council 9246, St. Michael’s Parish
Brother Knights, Families, and Friends,
As we move into another fraternal year together, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the incredible work we’ve accomplished and the strong momentum we continue to build as a council.
It brings me great pride and joy to share that Knights of Columbus Council 9246 at St. Michael’s Parish has been recognized as a Star Council in the previous fraternal year. This honor is a testament to the commitment, energy, and fraternity that each of you brings to our mission. I would especially like to acknowledge the exceptional leadership of our Past Grand Knight, Peter Au, under whose guidance this recognition was achieved.
We have also experienced meaningful growth in our ranks, thanks to the tireless efforts of Membership Director Suresh Perera. Our expanding brotherhood strengthens our ability to serve not only St. Michael’s Parish and School, but also the wider community. The more hands we have, the more hearts we can touch.
Our commitment to charity has remained at the heart of all we do. This past year, your generous participation helped raise funds for local community needs and provincial charities, continuing our proud tradition of putting faith into action.
Beyond fundraising, our council has made an impact through service. I want to recognize Brother Alain Custeau and Brother Gary Jeanotte for leading the charge in maintaining and beautifying the parish grounds—a visible and lasting contribution that benefits everyone who visits our church.
Equally important is the spirit of fraternity we’ve cultivated through social events. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Brother Enrico Garrone for organizing our potluck dinners and fun nights, which have not only brought us together as Knights but have opened doors for families and friends to feel more connected to our mission.
While we celebrate these accomplishments, I want to issue a call to action to all current members: now is the time to get even more involved. Your presence, your ideas, and your service are needed more than ever. Each one of us brings unique gifts to the table—and together, we can do great things.
Finally, to the men of our parish who may be reading this and wondering if the Knights are for you: we need you. Our council needs new men of faith and good will to carry this work forward—to build on the strong foundation that’s already here, and to help us reach even greater heights. Joining the Knights is not just about meetings or events—it’s about becoming part of something larger than yourself, something that truly makes a difference.
Thank you, Brother Knights, for all you do. May we continue to serve with joy, grow in brotherhood, and live out our mission with purpose and pride.
Vivat Jesus,
Adrian Smith
